We at Holistic Mortgage & Protection Ltd are taking on the Yorkshire three peaks challenge to try and raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity – please read our story below on why this is important to us. Any donations and support is much appreciated.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-mile circular walk that involves climbing the three largest peaks in Yorkshire within 12 hours. The peaks are Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. Its going to be tough!

Taking part in the challenge we have Kevin Hepplewhite, Gemma Mackey, Jonathan Ellis, Abbey Hepplewhite and Bethany Lester along with some other family - Ryan Wilks, Danny Wilks, Chris Haynes, Ben Hepplewhite, Helen Hepplewhite, Mia Day, Aaron Mackey and Leo Arch.

Why are we doing this?
​
Holistic is a family run business and last October the heart of our family was diagnosed with a brain tumour. This was a scary, anxious time and we all had lots of questions. No matter how hard you try to stay positive, the ugly, worst case scenario thoughts creep in. The waiting between finding out there was a tumour and what the options/prognosis were seemed like a million years. We have been extremely lucky, and Julie has since had a successful surgery to have the tumour removed and is on the road to recovery. We could not be more grateful.

Sadly, not everyone is so lucky. A childhood friend of mine, and a funny, beautiful soul, lost her 5 year fight with her brain tumour in December 2024. As do many others.
​
Instead of feeling useless, we would like to try and raise as much money as possible for The Brain Tumour Charity.

UPDATE:
We completed it! Ingleborough to Pen-y-ghent to Whernside.

It rained most of the day, we were soaked through and we had several injuries and delays. It was a TOUGH day.
​
We lost our first member of the group in Horton in Ribblesdale, the rain had made it slippery and coming down from Ingleborough one of our party twisted their ankle. Luckily, we had a couple of family members, who were unable to take part, acting as our support vehicle for the day.
​
On to Pen-y-ghent the rest of us went. The rain let up for half an hour here and there to give us a bit of reprieve. The summit of Pen-y-ghent was tough, with a section that required scrambling, but we made it!
​
The stretch between the summit of Pen-y-ghent to the summit of Whernside was long, around 11.5 miles! By the time we reached Ribblehead Viaduct a few more of our party had also succumbed to injury and left us at this point.
​
The remainder of our group pushed on, our bodies were broken but not our spirits and we made it up the final peak of Whernside. Later than planned but we completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks!
